OUR SCHOOLS
At Connect RP, we have the privilege of working with so many incredible school communities to bring Restorative Practice to life. But rather than us telling you about the experience, we have invited our schools to share their experience to date.
A Restorative Journey at St Vincent’s
When suspension levels became a concern at St Vincent’s Secondary School, Glasnevin, the team began looking for a different way to respond to challenging situations that would not only rersolve the conflict, but more importantly, strengthen relationships across the school.
In this conversation, Elaine and Rob share how Restorative Practice has contributed so positively to their school culture that has resulted in over half of the teaching staff now engaging in RP with them.
Restorative Practice in Action at St Aidan’s N.S., Wexford
At St Aidan’s N.S. in Wexford, children are learning practical skills to recognise their emotions, regulate their responses and communicate what they need.
Using ideas such as the “wise owl” and the “guard dog”, they’re developing a better understanding of what happens when emotions take over — and how they can respond differently. We see this learning translate into everyday moments, with children increasingly able to name how they’re feeling, seek support and make more considered choices.
Embedding Restorative Practice at Scoil Pádraig
At Scoil Pádraig, restorative practice has grown from a small trial into a whole-school approach.
In this conversation, Ciara and Lisa share how initiatives such as their Ubuntu team and BEE RP Hives are helping staff build confidence, share experiences and make restorative practice part of everyday school life.
They also reflect on how Connect RP’s training, structure and practical resources have supported the school as their RP journey continues.
Restorative Practice Through the Eyes of Students
What does restorative practice mean to the students at Scoil Pádraig?
In their own words, students share how RP gives them a voice, helps them solve disagreements by listening to each other and understand different points of view. They also talk about the importance of fairness, respect, inclusion, empathy and creating a safe environment for everyone.
Most importantly, they see the difference it makes to relationships - with each other and with staff across the school.
